The wait is over! Indian audiences will finally be able to catch up with the Khan family as the Om Puri starrer, West Is West is all set to release next month. The sequel to the multiple award winning film East is East is already in its 13th week of release in the UK and has been hailed as a major success by critics and viewers alike.

Picking up five years after the point where the first film ended, West IS West follows George Khan (Puri) and his family from Salford, England to rural Pakistan. In his last attempt to instill some values and traditions in his teenaged son Sajid, George bundles him up and sends him off to his first wife and family in Pakistan. Through the course of the film, George realises that it is in fact him who has excess baggage which he needs to let go off.

West Is West has a scintillating music score by Shankar Eshaan Loy which is the perfect fusion of Eastern beats and Western sounds. Apart from Om Puri, the film also stars Linda Bassett, Ila Arun, Jimi Mistry, Vijay Raaz and Aqib Khan in pivotal roles. West Is West has already done the rounds of most major film festivals and will hit Indian cinema screens on 10th June, 2011.
