Plot

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a “topsy-turvy story” set amongst upper middle class families in northern India. Imran Khan plays a character named Kush who falls in love with his brother’s (Ali Zafar) bride (Katrina Kaif).

The movie starts off with Luv breaking up with his girlfriend, Piyali. Meanwhile back in India, his brother Kush goes to a party to celebrate the success of his newly directed movie. During the party, he gets a call from Luv, who has decided to marry after the amount of fights with his ex girlfriend. Therefore, Luv tells Kush to search for a girl who is suitable to be his bride.

Kush searches high and low, first by going through the relations which his parents have decided for Luv, then by putting a big advertisement in the matrimonial section about Luv. Both seem to be big failures, but however Kush gets a call from the foreign associate in Delhi and he calls Kush and his family to meet his daughter. There, Kush finds out that the girl is none other than Dimple. Kush and Dimple had met each other sometime back when they were in college. Thus, he was surprised to see that the girl who was so wild and open in her college days, is so calm and peaceful now. However, Kush finally feels that she is the right one for his brother (as Luv had told him that whichever girl Kush would like, even he would like).

From this, a comedy of events happen due to the realisation of Kush’s love for Dimple and their plans to break up the marriage.
